Presented by Audi Boise
June 5th, 2021
For over a decade, Southwest Idaho has hosted one of the best cycling relays in the west. 2021 will see the renaming of the infamous LP 200 to the Sawtooth 200. New name but same great event!
The 200 mile course from Boise to Sun Valley, Idaho is one of the most scenic and challenging courses around and the 100 mile course from Grandjean to Sun Valley is full of its own challenges and altitude gain through some of the most amazing mountain ranges including the magnificent Sawtooths.
After your ride enjoy the post event party sponsored by the Sawtooth Brewery. Each rider will receive a custom finishers pint glass, your ticket to some great Sawtooth brew! Entry for the event also include a meal for each rider and one support person per team.
Saturday is just the beginning of the weekend so plan on staying the night in Ketchum at the Limelight Hotel, the event’s sponsoring hotel in downtown Ketchum. A discounted rate of $149 per room per night will be offered on Deluxe and Grand Deluxe room categories and up to a 30% discount on all other room types. These discounts are based on availability and may decrease so arrange your plans sooner rather than later!
To make reservations, book online or call 888.218.3282 between 7am - 7pm MST and reference the Sawtooth 200 Cycling Event.
The Sawtooth has both 200 and 100 mile routes. The 200 mile route has teams of either 4 or 6 riders. The 100 miler can either be ridden as a solo or 2 person team.
How does the relay work? The 200 mile route starts in Boise at Barclay Bay just south of the Lucky Peak Dam (take note, this is a new starting area from years past!). There are 9 fixed transition points and 10 segments along the way. Transitions can only take place at these spots. There is a limit of 3 teammates allowed on the road at a time except in certain locations. For more details please read all the rules about teams and support vehicles.
The 100 mile route starts in Grandjean, ID. There are 4 transition points and 5 segments.
Both routes end in the Sun Valley area in Ketchum/Sun Valley where your entry includes great beer and grub. This includes a custom finisher's pint glass and free beer from the Sawtooth Brewery. Hang with your teammates and enjoy the music as you recap your day's efforts. And as usual, results are posted live in the expo and online. Awards will be given to the fastest teams and soloists for each gender.
Afterwards, plan to stay the weekend with your team and support crew in famous downtown Ketchum.
Start Times have just been posted here.
